Phillies fan turn against one another after Game 4 loss

After grabbing hold of the Houston Astros in Game 3, the Philadelphia Phillies fell short in Game 4 once again. The Phillies lost 5-0 against the Astros on Wednesday of the World Series. Soon after the team’s defeat, an ugly war broke out between the Phillies fans in the restroom of Xfinity Live!, a bar located near Citizens Bank Park.

In the video footage shared on social media, fans started a brawl, grabbing each other’s hair, and getting physical with one another. While some wrestled on the floor, others were busy capturing these violent moments on their mobile phones.

On Thursday, the Philadelphia Police Department told TMZ that the authorities were not contacted nor dispatched as they were unaware of the happenings. The altercation was pretty bad, considering what transpired on Wednesday eve.

The Astros silenced the Phillies fan by winning Game 4, 5-0, and Game 5, 3-2 on Wednesday and Thursday respectively. Astros shortstop Jeremy Pena led the team with a homer in Game 5, pulling ahead 2-1, as the  Phillies ran to catch up to them in vain. 

On Wednesday, the Astros threw the first no-hitter in World Series since 1956. Players who stood prominent in Game 4 were pitcher Cristian Javier and three relievers who shut down the Phillies and their fans. 

The Astros tied the best-of-7-series at 2-2, securing their place further in the game. Before being relieved, Cristian delivered no-hit balls in 6 innings. He struck out 9 while walking 2 in over 97 pitches.

He told Fox Sports in an interview, “It’s funny. My parents told me today I was going to throw a no-hitter, and thanks to God, I was able to accomplish that”. Astros pitching coach Joshua Miller congratulated catcher Christian Vazquez for his calls.

Miller stated, “He’s calling every pitch, he’s seeing the movement, he’s seeing the hitter reaction”. “It’s huge, knowing what to call and when to maybe vacate the general game plan in certain situations.” Game 6 will be held on Saturday in Houston. Everyone’s glued to the match to see which team pulls away from the other.
