Randy Arozarena
Tampa Bay Rays’ outfielder Randy Arozarena made a lovely gesture for his young fan ‘Alex’ as he could not believe his eyes. Isn’t it very common to see a player throw a ball towards a fan as a souvenir but Arozarena’s act on Wednesday night in a game against St. Louis Cardinals filled everyone’s heart with glee.
It was the other way around this time, A young fan named ‘Alex’ gave Randy Arozarena a customised baseball – It was a custom design featuring Arozarena’s photo, jersey number and name, a ball according to Randy Arozarena, he had never seen before.
This lovely exchange of gestures took place in a match between Tampa Bay Rays and St. Louis Cardinals at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.
Randy Arozarena dazzled his young fan with exclusive custom-made signed bat
Arozarena loved the ball he got from his fan, initially, the fan ‘Alex’ had asked him to sign that ball, but Arozarena kept the ball and ran out to the left-field corner, where Alex was seated, at the top of the fifth inning to hand-deliver one of his personalized bats, autographed, along with a different signed baseball.
“I told him how much I liked it,” Arozarena said through interpreter Manny Navarro after the Rays’ 11-3 win over the Cardinals, “and so in exchange, I gave him a signed bat and another signed ball for it.”

Not just that, the gesture was completed with a hand-written note by Randy Arozarena which read, “I loved the baseball so much that I wanted to bring you out something additional. I wanted to bring you out this signed personalized bat.”
Although the fan ‘Alex’ was wearing St. Louis Cardinal’s Yadier Molina jersey, it was considered trivial if we see it through the eyes of Randy Arozarena. The most important thing was this beautiful exchange of gesticulation between a young shy fan and an amazing sportsman.
Randy Arozarena said he dashed back to the Rays’ clubhouse to write the note between innings, figuring he was safe to do so when he wasn’t slated to bat anytime soon.
