Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco had $650,000 jewelry stolen from his Rolls Royce Cullinan in Jacksonville last month. The incident took place as he was in town for a rehabilitation period with Durham Bulls while recovering from a quadriceps injury in June according to the police and court reports.

The alleged serial burglar named Kahil Eugene Mathis used a wrench to break into the player’s car at 3 a.m. on June 22. He stole a safe that contained seven pieces of jewelry and he sold some of them. The police identified him through an Arizona’s driver license and thumbprint he gave at a pawn shop before his arrest on July 4.
