“A new record”- Former Cubs pitcher Sean Marshall’s Lincolnwood home sells for a whooping $2.18 million
A former Cubs pitcher established a new record , but not in baseball. Sean Marshall, who pitched for the team from 2006 to 2011, sold his 7,000-square-foot Lincolnwood home for more than $2.18 million, setting the record for the highest home sale price in the inner Chicago suburb. According to Crain’s, the listing was on the market for three months.
Prior to this transaction, no Lincolnwood home had sold for more than $2 million, according to data dating back to 2006. Marshall initially listed the property in April with an asking price of slightly less than $3 million, but reduced it by more than $200,000 a month later. The Compass’s listing agent was Joe Semany.

Sean Marshall’s impressive home has amenities like no other
The house was built in 2003 and sits on just under a half-acre. It has contemporary architectural features and marketable luxury amenities like a gym, indoor swimming pool, and theatre. In 2010, Sean Marshall spent $1.37 million on the property. A year later, he was traded to the Cincinnati Reds, where he played until his career ended in 2014. In 2020, he joined the Marquee Sports Network as a Cubs analyst.
“It was the highest sale price in Lincolnwood by close to $300,000, so it’s the best house, I would say up to this point to close,” listing agent Joseph Semany of Compass, tells Elite Street. “A great thing is the architectural style of that house — the wow factor of being in that main core living space with the two-floor vaulted ceiling space looking out is something you can’t find (elsewhere). And it’s on like six city lots. It’s a big property. So from the street, you don’t really know what’s all back there. And the pool didn’t hurt, and the apartment suite didn’t hurt.”
