Shohei Ohtani went into sign a 1-year $30 Million contract. Safe to say this the agreement bypasses the arbitration process. For those who are not aware, this is the largest contract ever awarded in arbitration. Previously was a $27 million deal for Mookie Betts in 2020 as a member of the Boston Red Sox.

That being said, he was traded to the Dodgers in just over a month’s time. Moreover when the 2023 market is open, there are surely going to be top teams fighting to lure Shohei Ohtani to their base camp at perhaps the best, if not more, price tags.
