“Dude! He’s got mystical reflexes” Shohei Ohtani exhibits brilliance, leaves Mariners clueless with his caliber
Shohei Ohtani
Shohei Ohtani has been a positive turbulence as the 2-way talent in Major League Baseball, he did not only throw seven shutout innings and struck out eight, but he also accounted for the Angels’ two runs on Saturday’s 2-1 win over the Mariners at Angel Stadium. Seattle tried to make a break-through in the first two innings, they could not find any answer to what Shohei had to offer.
“Normally, I don’t really think about those things, but at this point, I’m pretty close,” Shohei Ohtani said when asked about what an ERA title would mean to him. “I’d never actually got [the minimum innings] so I want to see, experience how it is to get to those minimum innings.”
Shohei Ohtani is the reigning MVP and he had an honest assessment for his performance off-late, “I don’t like to self-critique myself in any way,” Ohtani added. “One thing I could say is, overall, balance-wise, I’m having a better season this year than I had last year.”
Shohei Ohtani rises closer than ever before to Aaron Judge for the MVP race
Shohei Ohtani’s performance in Saturday’s game has indeed boosted his word in the MVP race, he himself let the staff know on Friday that he is confident about this pitching for the next day. “I don’t take this for granted at all,” Los Angeles Angels interim manager Phil Nevin said.
“We’re all-seeing things that we haven’t seen before; to be that dominant on both sides. I’ve said it before, he’s (Shohei Ohtani) the most valuable player of our game right now and until somebody can come in and do the things he does on both sides, I don’t see it going any other way.”
Shohei Ohtani’s WAR this season has been 8.1 falling behind only Aaron Judge WAR of 9.7. He is on the road to hit more than 35 hits this season while also throwing 150 innings or so of 2.50 ERA ball as a pitcher. The MVP is again as tight as it could be, Judge is likely to win the balloting, there’s not really a wrong answer here.
