As the excitement for the 2024 season rises, one thing players and fans are not looking forward to is the new jerseys and pants. The league stars are reportedly unhappy with the new designs.

Since it’s release, the new Vapor Premier jerseys produced by Nike have been receiving negative comments. Fans would let their voices be heard against it on social media and criticized this decision by the popular sports brand.

The players across the league got the first taste of it during the 2023 All-Star game. While the reviews back then were positive, things have changed at the moment.

On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Dodgers shared images of their stars including the Japanese duo Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto in their new jerseys. In this, the jerseys being tucked into the pants of players could clearly be seen.

This was seen with Cal Raleigh as well. In a video shared by the Seattle Mariners on X, his jersey being tucked well inside his pants was also clearly visible to the audiences, leading to huge outrage on social media once again.

MLB Players Association executive director Tony Clark has informed the media that the players are “frustrated” with the new designs. He is now hoping for this issue to get fixed during the course of the Spring training.

It is no secret that the MLB world has not enjoyed the new Nike jerseys. As per reports several players seem upset regarding this. Philadelphia Phillies slugger Trea Turner has now dropped a huge bomb regarding this jerseys.

While speaking with the Associated Press on this, Turner claimed every player in the league and everyone else involved with MLB “hates” the new designs.

I know everyone hates them. We all liked what we had. We understand business, but I think everyone wanted to keep it the same way, for the most part, with some tweaks here or there.

Meanwhile, a few days ago, Commissioner Rob Manfred was asked about his thoughts on the negative feedback regarding the jerseys. The top boss claimed he knew there would be negative feedback but assured everyone that this designs will get popular as people start wearing it.

Only time will now tell whether this intense backlash would led to a change of plans of Manfred and Nike. As for now, players will be seen wearing this new jerseys in the Spring training which kicks off on Thursday with the clash between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres.
