Watch: Taylor Ward knocks a HR just when his adorable grandmother is interviewed at the ballpark

Taylor Ward has gone onto register one of the most emphatic moments of the 2022 season when he smacked a home run right when his father, Joe asked for it. Just when Bally Sports West’s Erica Weston was set to interview Ward’s family during his at-bat against the Rays in the fourth innings, the right fielder made a name for himself in front of his dad.
Taylor Ward smacked solo Homer off right-handed Drew Rasmussen. Interestingly this moment came when the media personnel was interviewing Taylor’s grandmother Faye, who travelled from North Carolina to witness her favorite play in all four games at Tropicana Field this week.
Taylor Ward’s grandparents have travelled often from Orlando to witness him play. However, this moment on Thursday was special was Taylor Ward as he managed to make his granny proud. The latter hadn’t seen her grandson in 3 years because of the Hutus caused by Covid-19.

“That’s so good, yes!” Faye said as the ball traveled over the center-field fence. “Maybe we brought him a little luck.” Moreover, the 28-year-old didn’t even know what had happened until he was made aware after the game. “I mean, it’s amazing,” Taylor Ward said.
“I can’t remember how many years it’s been since she got a chance to see me play. It’s a great moment for me. I’m just super happy she was able to see it. I’m always happy when they get to see me play. They love it. They’re very lucky to be able to do that and for me to be in this situation.”
“Erica and I were talking and I said, ‘How cool would it be if he hit a home run while we were doing the interview?’ and sure enough …” Taylor Ward said. “That was pretty cool.”
“It was fun when he started off hot. I always believed he could be like any of these guys,” Joe Ward added. “I knew he had it in him, and he’s shown it.”
That being said, talking about the particular hard-hitting stats of the marquee 28-years-old, Taylor Ward has hit .375 with a homer, a double and two RBIs during the four-game series vs. Tampa Bay. Lastly, he is now hitting .244/.325/.414 with 17 homers and 46 RBIs in 101 games this season
