The Texas Rangers are finally the World Champions. They got to live this as they crushed the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-0 in Game 5 to claim their maiden World Series title. A dominating win in Game 5 capped off their dominance in the series as well and they demolished their opponents 4-1.

With star man Adolis Garcia out of the squad following an injury in Game 3, the pressure was on the visitors to deliver. Marcus Semien lifted all that pressure as he turned their hero in Game 4. He though was not done there and made headlines for his impressive showing in Game 5 as well.

With this win, the MLB now only has five teams who have never won it all. After suffering back-to-back heartbreaks in 2010 and 2011, the Rangers finally ended on the right side of the scoreline and won the World Series.

Their team performances had been key throughout the season. Despite missing out on the division title by one game, they went on to claim the ultimate prize, something they wanted more than ever. This victory means that the World Series title will remain in the state of Texas but with the Rangers this time as they succeed their rivals, the Houston Astros as champions.

The scoreline might suggest that the Texas Rangers won 5-0 comfortably. Well, it was for the last inning, but not before that. Till the seventh inning, the game was a close one as both sides struggled to get a break. Obviously, it was the Rangers who broke the scoreless tie.

The late drama that many wanted never arrived as the Rangers scored four runs in the ninth inning. A two-run triple by Jonah Heim saw the visiting team grab a hold of the game. The exclamation point of the game came later as Marcus Semien connected for a two-run home run to finish off the D-backs.

Just like that it was all over. The D-backs were unable to muster anything, perhaps depleted by their poor performance throughout the series. Despite their heroics all season, they just could not stop the Rangers train.

For his strong performances throughout the series, Corey Seager was named the World Series MVP. He is now the fourth different player to win this honor on multiple occasions.

This also brings an end to an exciting MLB season. A season that had no shortage of drama produced some great comebacks, epic failures, and thousands of unforgettable moments. In the end, the year 2023 firmly belongs to the Texas Rangers.
