“Couch Potato” Tony La Russa drowsy in the 1st inning, Twitter MLB fans blown out of their minds

Tony La Russa

Chicago White Sox manager Tony La Russa was caught snoozing while his team hosted the Kansas City Royals on Monday night in a 2-1 loss. The loss became more frustrating as the biggest story that came out of the loss for many fans was the sleepy manager. Fans were left to wonder how in a match where the pitchers must be appreciated, it was the losing team manager to made the headlines.

The camera shifted towards Tony La Russa in the first inning, he was seen nodding off in the Chicago White Sox dugout like a person who pulled an all-nighter while partying in Las Vegas and pulling up on a flight right before the match.

Tony La Russa had a bobbing head and tiring eyes, although he is turning 78 in October but what the camera made the fans see has no explanation what so ever. “He’s falling asleep and it’s the first inning!!!!” Twitter user Moscow Mike said. “@whitesox please do something about this!!!”

White Sox’ All-Star closer Liam Hendriks is friends with Jake Diekman, not only him, but their wives are also friends. “He’s got one of, if not the highest ceilings of any left-hander in the league. I think his stuff is unreal,” Hendriks said. “Not only that, but he’s going to mesh really well in this clubhouse. We’ve got some guys that have played with him.

“We’ve got some guys that know him. But he’s awesome. Great dude. Good family. Excited to have him and he’s an add to our ‘pen. Especially with that high octane left-handed stuff and with everything he can throw up there, it just brings a different look to what we’ve got.”
