The resurgence of Trea Turner continues, as the Philadelphia Phillies star is having the time of his life right now following one of his worst career stretches. He received a major ovation from fans at Citizens Bank Park at the start of last month. It seems to have brought his confidence back, as he tied a Phillies franchise record on Saturday.
Turner would hit his sixth home run in five games in his team’s narrow 7-5 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. He would tie a club record by hitting home runs in five consecutive games. A major change in fortune has put him back on top of the world. Recently, he was able to hit two home runs in one inning.
Trea Turner thanked the fans for their incredible support for him. “That was big. They picked me up when and I played a lot better and helped the team out a quite a bit. Hopefully, we can keep that rolling,” the American international said about the recent developments.

Trea Turner had another great year with the Los Angeles Dodgers last season. He continued that form in the World Baseball Classic (WBC), mesmerizing the crowd with his performances. He would play an important role in leading the USA Team to the finals, where they lost to Japan.
The 30-year-old arrived at the Philadelphia Phillies with a lot of expectations on his shoulders. Turner was unable to play the way he would have hoped during his earlier months. He seems to be back in menacing form, which left the pitchers terrorized. Twitter (now X) was full of praise for the Phillies star and joined in the celebration of this franchise-record moment. Here are a few of them.
Despite this record-tying moment, the Phillies were unable to grab the win. The Brewers have now taken the first two games of the series by the same score of 7-5. The NL Central would be looking to sweep them as they enter the field of action on Sunday.
For the Phillies, it was their third straight loss. They are still ahead in the wild card spot rankings, and they would be hoping it stays that way. The positive for them is definitely the return of Turner and his teammate Bryce Harper. Fans of the Phillies will be hoping these two can help the team mount another late-October run.
