As MLB teams continue to gear up for the 2024 season, former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer has pitched in the idea of making a return. The southpaw has been out from the MLB since serious sexual assault accusations were labeled against him.

While appearing at the Fox News’ America Newsroom, the 32-year-old admitted several “mistakes” and hoped he would get a “second opportunity” from the MLB. This was also the first time Bauer had spoken about the issue.

After signing with the Dodgers in 2021, Bauer found himself in trouble after he was alleged to have sexually assaulted a woman. These serious charges saw him getting suspended and eventually being released from the MLB. He would later sign with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars in the NPB and spent his 2023 year in Japan.

While acknowledging some of his mistakes he now wants to try and get back into the big leagues. So far no teams have contacted him.

I know I’ve made mistakes... I agreed to do things I shouldn’t have done. I was reckless... I think I’ve done a lot of damage, unfortunately, in the first half of my career, and I’d love a second opportunity to do things better.

Trevor Bauer admits acting like an “immature” following sexual assault allegations

After getting his dream move to the Los Angeles Dodgers, Trevor Bauer would soon come face-to-face with his worst nightmare. The southpaw was stunned to see himself being accused of sexual assault and perhaps did not know how to react. In the interview with Bill Hemmer, he admitted to acting like an “immature” person following these allegations.

Bauer would earlier attack the media for their coverage of him in 2021. Reacting to this, he has now claimed that he did make a few people mad and was not pleased with how he handled things back then.

I was very immature with how I handled things when people would write things about me I didn’t agree with... I viewed a lot of my responses on social media as standing up for myself and having a voice. And I think I was just immature.
Trevor Bauer on his behaviour as per Fox News.

His former teammate Mookie Betts recently spoke in favor of him and hoped teams would sign him. This came after the 2020 National League Cy Young Award winner disclosed that he had settled the lawsuit with her accuser. The former All-Star has now thrown his pitch to the teams. Will he ever actually get the chance to make a comeback to the MLB now remains to be seen?
