The Houston Astros has indeed patched up their squad after a lighting trade window, they acquired first baseman/designated hitter Trey Mancini from the Orioles and catcher Christian Vázquez from the Red Sox and reportedly acquired lefty reliever Will Smith from the Braves in separate deals. But Trey Mancini’s fiancée knew gratitude needs to be deliver towards Orioles for supporting her fiancée throughout.

Sara Perlman tweeted her love towards the city of Baltimore and all the Orioles fans as Baltimore Orioles were the team present in need for Trey Mancini. On March 7, 2020, Mancini left the Orioles during spring training to undergo a non-baseball medical procedure. On April 28, Mancini revealed he had stage 3 colon cancer and began chemotherapy to treat his cancer.

The entire MLB nation received the astonishing news. Fortunately, in the next season, 2021, Trey Mancini was given a standing ovation by the Orioles crowd prior to his first at-bat of the season in Baltimore. Sara Perlman tweeted, “For a million reasons… thank you Baltimore. You will always be such a special place for us,” using orange heart emojis.

General Manager James Click had a few words after acquiring Trey Mancini and Christian Vázquez, “Our focus is to try to put [ourselves] in the best position that we can to compete for a World Series [title] this year,” he said. “These are two guys we think can help us get there.”

Trey Mancini, a cancer survivor, has a $10 million mutual option for 2023 and has hit .268/.347/.404 with 10 homers this year and could feast at Minute Maid Park. “I’m thrilled to be a part of the organization,” Mancini said. “They’ve had such a consistently good team for a lot of years, and they’re having another great year this year.”

He added, “So, I’m excited to be a part of it and. Yeah, it’s crazy. But yeah, like I said, wasn’t expecting anything to happen today. So, I’m still just kind of taking it all in. … But definitely excited to see what the rest of this year holds in Houston.”
