Like any other professional sport, the Major League Baseball (MLB) has certain rules and regulations set for proper player conduct. While injured players are often named or placed on the injured lists, the league and the teams can place a player on the restricted list if they feel some necessary action has to be taken. So what is basically the restricted list?

As the name suggests restricted lists means a player being restricted from playing. In these cases, players who are named on this list are members of a team but they are not active. MLB players usually find themselves on this list when they are involved in some legal action such as the case of Wander Franco. A few days ago, a highly active member in the form of Yankees pitcher, Domingo German was placed on this list for his alcohol troubles.

When a player is placed on the list, the team are eligible to replace them with another player. As in most cases, the players are not paid during their time on this list. The teams have the power to remove the player from this unwanted list and reinstate them in their roster or sell them to another team.

In the case of Wander Franco, the player is currently out for till the 20th of August. In the meantime, the MLB will carry out its investigation into the matter. If Franco is proven not guilty of violating any laws, he could be back on the roster. Before this development, he was having a great time with the Rays, with him being on a seven-game hit streak.
