WATCH: “That was out of nowhere” – College baseball match gets ugly as pitcher attacks baserunner during home run trot

A glimpse of the Weatherford College and North Central Texas College baseball match
A college baseball game turned violent on Wednesday after a pitcher snapped, charging a baserunner before levelling him into the mound. This bizarre incident took place in the sixth inning between Weatherford College and North Central Texas College (NCTC).
The latter’s first baseman Josh Phillips belted a two-run shot off Owen Woodward, giving his team the lead. Clearly, the Weatherford student took the home run to heart and matters into his own hands. With a rage aimed at not wanting to see Phillips play the rest of the game, he threw down his glove and flattened the first baseman.
The video of the same has been doing rounds on social media but it’s quite grainy and only shows the middle of Phillips’ home run trot. As a result, we don’t know what happened to push the Weatherford pitcher over the edge.
