“Mad Max” or Max Scherzer is a Major League Baseball player, right now playing for the New York Mets. During his professional career, he has played with many other teams, finally signing with the Mets in 2021. Max has achieved great height with his powerplays. He is the 8 times All-Star winner, 3 times Cy Young Award winner, and the winner of the World Series with the Washington Nationals in 2019.

Aside from being a world-class player, Max Scherzer is the father to three children and the husband to Erica May-Scherzer. Their youngest child was born recently. They have been seeing each other for some time before deciding to get hitched. They often share pictures of their children on their social media handles, to give their fans a glimpse of their personal life. The couple is reported to share a similar passion for baseball before their relationship started to bloom.

Max Scherzer and Erica May started dating in 2005 after getting bonded over their favorite baseball sports. Just like Max, Erica has also been an avid baseball fan. And not only a fan, but she herself was a softball player for the Mizzou Softball team. But due to her heart conditions, she had to give up on baseball. She also played for the Cherry Creek High school where she was considered a great pitcher, topping the conference in ERA, strikeouts, and win-loss percentage. Sharing mutual feelings about their interests surely helped them develop a strong relationship.

Currently, Erica is serving as an ambassador for Polaris, an organization dedicated to combating and eradicating human enslavement. The couple is very much involved with humanitarian acts and often posts pictures of them. Max and Erica got married in 2013. The couple welcomed their first daughter named Brooklyn on November 29th, 2018 according to mlb.com. 

Their second daughter Kacey Hart Scherzer was born on 7th April 2019 when the couple celebrated the birth of their new member. Their son was born on May 2nd, 2021, and was named Derek Alexander Scherzer. Eric gave birth to their son less than 2 hours after Max finished his 5-hitter game against the Miami Marlins.
