“He’s very talented” – Yankees pound upon Japan Series Champion Shohei Ohtani after 6-1 win against Angels

Shohei Ohtani
Shohei Ohtani – the Japanese pitcher also nicknamed ‘showtime’ first visited the Yankee stadium 11 months ago, it was then considered to be a powerhouse of a match-up against the New York Yankees. The spotlight of Bronx did fall on the Yankees as they completed a two-way phenomenal chase by seven early runs in a match that only lasted for two third of an innings.
The doubleheader on Thursday proved to be another day for which the Yankee batters had the answer for Angel’s pitcher Ohtani, smashing three early bombs out of the lines.
Max Carpenter, Gleyber Torres and Aaron Judge went deep as they knocked the ball all-out off Ohtani, who could only deliver for three-plus innings and licensed four runs as the Angels had to face their season-high seventh straight defeat.
Max Carpenter opinionates upon battle with Shohei Ohtani

Max Carpenter who took Shohei Ohtani into the second deck in right field, stated, “I spent a lot of my career in the leadoff spot and took a lot of pride in starting games off with long at-bats, it just really sets the tone. The opposing pitcher doesn’t want that. You’re just letting him know that we’re coming here to fight. As a group, it’s not going to be an easy day for you.”
The Yankee Manager was put a question about the scenario to which he replied, “I think our guys just capitalized on some mistakes against him and threw up some really tough at-bats, both right and left-handed, maybe he didn’t have his best stuff today, but I felt like this was a little bit different than last year.”

Aaron Judge joined forces with Carpenter and Torres in the third innings, smashing his 19th hit of the season. The game had four dingers, the fourth home run was drilled deep by DJ LeMahieu off reliever Jhonathan Diaz.
The initial support by these batters was comforting for Nestor Cortes, who dissipated five hits over seven scoreless innings, downgrading his ERA to 1.50.
“I think we’re all here trying to do a job,” Cortes said. “Obviously, everybody knows he’s very talented and he’s got two things to do when he pitches and hits. I go out there and pride myself on giving the best I can, whether I’m pitching against Ohtani or any other person.”
