Aaron Judge and Hal Steinbrenner
MLB teams are ready to clash against each other as start baseball outfielder Aaron Judge tasted the free market this week. For now, other MLB teams are keeping watch over the situation, as the strongest contender San Francisco Giants make their way towards the 4x All-Star Winner.
With their lucrative proposition, they demand the highest bid for the star player. Playing for the New York Yankees since 2016, it will be Judge’s first time tasting free water. His ex-team has also made its move, though their first contract conversation fell through halfway.
The team and Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner told the YES Network, “I have had more than one conversation with Aaron since the season ended”. “I’ll leave it at that. A very positive conversation.” The Yankees have made it clear that they want Judge back in their team, now the answer only lies with the AL MVP himself.

During the YES Network talk interview that is to be aired on Monday, Hal was asked if they were confident enough to sign Aaron Judge, considering their first failed attempt, “I have made it clear to him that is our wish. He means a lot to this organization and I made it clear to him we’re gonna do everything we can to make that happen,” Hall said.
Signing Judge will also be a challenge for the Yankees as they will have to spend quite an amount of their fortune than what they thought at first. Prior to the Opening Day, the team offered him a contract of $213.5 million for 7-years, which didn’t pass through. Judge also didn’t want to jump up at any conclusion, as he wanted to test the free market.
As a free agent, his value is expected to increase by $100 million more than what the Yankees offered. His recent milestone achievement of 62 homers has also affected hugely in his market value. Judge’s only weakness would have been his health since he did miss games because of injuries.
His health issues didn’t seem to scare off the strongest opponent though, as the Giants are ready to make a huge splash in the market. They have openly stated that they’ll do whatever it takes to lock him down. If the Giants deal fell through, then it wouldn’t be because of financial issues but rather personal ones.
