“Is he ok ?”- Yordan Alvarez leaves game against Braves abruptly due to illness

Yordan Alvarez
After leaving the Astros game against the Braves due to illness on Friday night, Yordan Alvarez was transferred to a hospital in the Atlanta vicinity. Alvarez, who began the first game of Houston’s World Series rematch in left field, was reported to have departed the field at Truist Park because he felt unwell. “He was evaluated in the training room and then transported to a local hospital for further evaluation,” the club tweeted.
Alvarez pulled himself out of the game after experiencing shortness of breath, according to Astros manager Dusty Baker, who also noted that his player’s vital signs are okay and that he is feeling good, following Houston’s 6-2 defeat. Still, a medical evaluation by an ER doctor would be required. Alvarez left the game in the bottom of the fifth inning after reaching for a ball that the Braves had hit. “He had shortness of breath. Then, when they shot the fireworks off, the smoke made it worse,” Baker said.
Mauricio Dubon soon followed Yordan Alvarez getting off the field

Chaz McCormick, who had been playing centerfield initially, shifted to left, while Mauricio Dubon moved to the position. However, Dubon’s night was also cut short in the sixth inning when he slammed into the wall in right-centerfield while attempting to grab a fly ball. He had to exit the game due to what appeared to be a shoulder injury, and Jake Meyers took his place.
The Astros are lacking in outfielders. Alvarez and Michael Brantley shared time in left, but Brantley is gone for the year. A groyne injury has placed utility player Aledmys Diaz on the 10-day disabled list. There are still 41 games and almost two months left in the season for Houston, who entered Friday’s game 3.5 games ahead of the New York Yankees for the best record in the American League.
