Brianna Hammonds is the proud daughter of Willie Robert Jr., a retired administrative officer in Newport News Public Schools in Virginia, and Pamela Reneet Miller, who serves as an executive director of alumni affairs at Washington & Lee University Law School in Lexington, Virginia. She attended high school at Menchville High School which is where she first met her future husband Mookie Betts who was her childhood friend before they started dating in 2011 when he was still playing minor league baseball for the Red Sox organization.

Although Brianna and Mookie have been together since their days at John Overton Comprehensive High School in Nashville, Tennessee, they only announced their engagement on January 2021. Later that same year, they were married in Palos Verdes, California in December 2021.
