Dustin Poirier fought his last fight at UFC 318, putting on a 5-round barnburner with Max Holloway in the main event. Shortly after his retirement, the Lafayette native announced to his fans that he and his wife Jolie were expecting their second child. Now, the former 155lbs interim champion’s recent social media has given fans a glimpse into his family life.
Poirier has remained quite active in the MMA space since his retirement. He has swapped the 4oz. gloves for a cordless microphone with his new job as a full-time analyst for the UFC and Paramount+, frequently giving his insights on upcoming fights. Moreover, he joined the broadcast team at UFC 319 for his first gig post-retirement.
As he eased into his post-retirement era, Poirier and his wife welcomed their son, Kingston Cade Poirier, to the world on November 25, 2025. Jolie even joked that while their family had to cancel Thanksgiving, they had a new reason to celebrate.
Nonetheless, now, almost half a year later, the Louisiana native has shown fans on social media how his son is growing up.

It is safe to say that Poirier has always been a proud father. Even before the birth of his son, during his career, he always prided himself on being “Parker’s dad.” The Louisiana native even has a tattoo of his daughter’s name on his chest. Now, the Poirier family has another member as ‘The Diamond’ enters his post-fighting era.
His son, Kingston, looks to be growing up healthy and big. This picture of the Diamond and his smiling son elicited a response similar to his son’s birth announcement from his followers. There was an outpour of well-wishes in the Poirier’s comments section from fans and celebrities alike.
Fans react to Dustin Poirier and his son on social media
Following his retirement, Dustin Poirier’s social media content had pivoted around his work as an analyst for the UFC. He regularly shares clips of his opinions on upcoming fights, reshares promotional material for content on Paramount’s platforms, and shares behind-the-scenes whenever he acts as a desk analyst.

Poirier also regularly shares throwbacks from his fighting days. Be it the second anniversary of his incredible KO over Benoit Saint-Denis or the maiden anniversary of his war against Islam Makhachev at UFC 302, Poirier has shared some slick posts and edits.
But his latest post with the picture of himself and his son has caused quite a buzz. Across Instagram and X, there were several interesting responses to the post. Comedian and podcast host Theo Von joked that Poirier’s son was almost ready to compete in the UFC’s flyweight division. Poirier replied to this, saying his son was born with a “girth certificate” instead of a birth certificate.
Even Poirier’s American Top Team teammate Kayla Harrison congratulated him on Instagram. She called his son a silly goose, a phrase frequently employed by Poirier himself. He agreed with her, saying he definitely was the silliest. But not just celebrities, fans were also in awe of how big Kingston had gotten in the last six months. Here are some of the best reactions to Dustin Poirier and his son.
