Francis Ngannou‘s quest for boxing glory was met with a brutal knockout loss to Anthony Joshua. In the main event of Knockout Chaos, Joshua knocked out Ngannou in the second round with a single punch. Ngannou remained on the canvas for some time before the medics provided Oxygen and resuscitated him.

Ngannou had shown a durable chin in his boxing debut against Tyson Fury. However, Joshua proved to be a class apart in Ngannou’s second fight. Joshua had earlier knocked Ngannou down in the first round and finished the job in the second round with consecutive knockdowns. It was the first time that fans and fighters saw Ngannou motionless on the canvas.

Nicknamed ‘The Predator,’ Ngannou stayed true to the name with brutal knockout victories in the UFC. In 14 fights in the UFC, he had a respectable record of 12 wins and two losses. Of those 12 victories, he knocked out 10 opponents. He knocked out the likes of Stipe Miocic, Alistair Overeem, Junior Dos Santos, Cain Velasquez, Curtis Blaydes, and Jairzinho Rozenstruik to name a few.

Ngannou was in his mid to late 20s when he seriously began to pursue combat sports. He intended to box, like his idol, Mike Tyson. However, his coaches saw him as having a better future in MMA, and it was there that he achieved the most success.

Ngannou has competed in MMA, Kickboxing, and boxing. However, he has never faced a knockout loss, except in his latest fight against Anthony Joshua. He had lost five times in his combat sports career: twice in boxing and thrice in MMA. However, all those were by decision. All his losses in MMA were by unanimous decision. Moreover, his loss in his boxing debut to Tyson Fury was due to a split decision.
