After making his return from retirement after four years, Rashad Evans says he is happy with his performance.

Evans is one of the oldest fighters in the world of MMA. The fighter made his professional debut back in 2004 with Dangerzone: Cage Fighting as a light heavyweight. His initial performances helped him to get into The Ultimate Fighter in 2005 then finally fighting at UFC 63.

Evans showed great potential and was undefeated from 2004 to 2008, winning 13 fights in dominating fashion. His first loss came against Lyoto Machida at UFC 98 in which Evans lost his light heavyweight championship belt. Evans has fought every top light heavyweight in UFC in his time, throughout his career the fighter has exchanged shots with fighters like Tito Ortiz, Michael Bisping, Thiago Silva, Jon Jones, Chael Sonnen, etc. The UFC Hall of Famer fought his last UFC bout against Anthony Smith at UFC 225 in 2018.

After four long years, Evans finally got his chance to make his comeback with Eagle FC. The fighter fought against Gabriel Checco at the inauguration event of Eagle FC. Evans went against Checco for three rounds and won the fight at the end via a unanimous decision.

After registering his 20th win against Gabriel Checco in the first event of Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Eagle FC 44, Evans attended the post-fight conference. In the conference, the 42-year-old was asked about his win and how he felt about his professional comeback.

Evans responded to the question by explaining that the feeling was different as it was the first time in a long time he got into the Octagon for a competitive fight. The fighter revealed that in this sport you cannot predict anything as with every fighter the conditions change massively. But after today’s win, Evans was satisfied with his performance and was happy about it. “It felt different because I haven’t done anything for so long..this is a sport that you never get used to. Every opponent is different, every fight presents something different. you know, the training camp, the journey to the fight along the way it felt good though,” said Evans.
