“We’re supposed to veer away from the narrative”- Joe Rogan points out the hypocrisy in mainstream media post-Russia’s invasion of Ukraine
Joe Rogan
Joe Rogan reacts to the changed stance of mainstream media after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine! The globe is in upheaval as Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a military operation in Ukraine. Russian missiles bombarded the capital and other sections of the country as Russian soldiers escalated their offensive. With hundreds dying daily, scores injured and people fleeing to take refuge in other countries, the lives of the Ukrainians have fallen into jeopardy in midst of the crisis. Organizations have been striving to assist Ukraine’s residents, with millions of youngsters at risk as the crisis escalates.
The whole world is sending out their prayers to the people of Ukraine, and many athletes took up the arms to defend their nation. While the sentiment of people resides with Ukraine, Joe Rogan is finding it hard to swallow the changed opinion of media right after the war started. Talking about mainstream media in a recent episode of his podcast, he said, “I have this screenshot that someone sent me. About the way the people on the left were talking about the Ukraine situation before the war.”
Rogan added, “This is one of the things that’s so weird is that they were very disparaging of Ukraine, and they were talking about the massive corruption of Ukraine, and how horrible it was over there. And now, all of a sudden, they’re looking at it like they’re heroes. The same exact people. This is what’s confusing. We’re supposed to just veer away from the narrative that was being pushed just a couple years ago?” (Source- Outsider.com)
Joe Rogan weighs in on importance of strong and unbiased media
Media is a dangerous tool in hands of an enemy, and the presence of strong and biased reporters is necessary for people to really find out what’s wrong with their country. Rogan believes there are some journalists who believe in the fair press, but the organizations controlling them limit the amount of data that actually goes out to the public.
“What scares me is, I mean, I think there are objective journalists who work for the Washington Post and The New York Times. There are real, solid journalists out there, but I don’t necessarily know if you’re getting all of the information. I think it’s safe to say that some f**kery is afoot,” Joe Rogan concluded.
