Israel Adesanya was recently at the highly anticipated boxing bout between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury that took place in Saudi Arabia. Izzy was there to support his African brother Ngannou, who lost in a rather controversial order.
After the fight, many fans called out the judges and claimed that the former UFC champion was robbed. So did Izzy, who went on to share his thoughts on boxing as a sport. Izzy posted a clip of him boxing in the past and how he took a hit behind his head and his opponent didn’t face any repercussions. Izzy complained that boxing as a business has always been corrupt and what happened with Ngannou isn’t that surprising.
While Izzy spoke about something so serious, his rival, Alex Pereira, couldn’t help but add a funny twist to it. The Brazilian, who has faced Izzy on numerous occasions and has a history of trolling his opponents, shared a clip of himself boxing and mentioned, “Maybe I’ll do a boxing fight in 2027.”
2027, he remarked, was a reference to a recent Adesanya interview where the fighter jokingly said that he wouldn’t be coming back to fight until 2027 after his latest loss to Sean Strickland. Pereira is a hilarious individual and knows how to use humor to get his opponents and this has become quite popular with the fans.
