The spectacle of Knockout Chaos featuring Francis Ngannou vs. Anthony Joshua will go down soon. With the matchup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, many expect combat sports athletes and celebrities to make an appearance. As such, Ngannou’s former rival, Alistair Overeem, came into town to watch the match.

In an interview with IFL TV, an interviewer questioned Alistair Overeem’s experience of fighting Francis Ngannou. Overeem lost to ‘The Predator’ at UFC 218 in brutal fashion as a thunderous uppercut put him out cold. Answering the question, The MMA veteran joked about not remembering anything alluding to the knockout. This is what Overeem said while cracking a laugh:

I don't remember.... Every mistake can be fatal. When you are fighting somebody like that, every wrong move is checkmate immediately.

However, Overeem stated one important factor in fighting someone like Francis Ngannou, who has knockout credentials. He said even one mistake could be fatal, and he paid for it in the end. As such, in hindsight, he revealed having a very good game plan to fight Ngannou.

Alistair Overeem was an exceptional striker with credited kickboxing and MMA records. He accumulated a combined 47-19 record in MMA, competing in numerous promotions, including UFC, PRIDE, and Strikeforce. Also, he has a professional kickboxing record of 10-4-1. He retired from combat sports in 2023.

Francis Ngannou vs. Anthony Joshua is one of the most anticipated boxing events in 2024. The MMA star proved his worth in the boxing realm with his fight against Tyson Fury. However, there was still some hesitation among many to pick him to win this fight. But that wasn’t the case for the MMA veteran Alistair Overeem.

Alistair Overeem picked Francis Ngannou to win against the former champion Anthony Joshua at ‘Knockout Chaos.’ The UFC veteran also backed Ngannou to win against Tyson Fury. Here is what he said:

Yes, (Picking Francis Ngannou) based on two facts. He learned from the Fury fight, his confidence is now up there because he was in there for ten rounds and he didn't really get scratched. Number two, he wants it, he wants to do it and there's the weight difference. He's got the weight difference.

Francis Ngannou weighed more than 20 pounds heavier than Anthony Joshua, which sided with Overeem’s prediction. Nonetheless, this matchup can go either way with the Cameroonian’s power and Joshua’s experience in boxing. As such, this fight goes down at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
