“Easiest payday of my career”- Jake Shields and Dillon Danis exchange virtual blows amid talks of a potential fight
Jake Shields and Dillon Danis
Dillon Danis is one of the most notorious competitors in the sport. He is not known necessarily for his fighting abilities but for his tactics outside the cage. He is primarily known because of being Conor McGregor’s training partner and friend. He capitalized on the clout that comes with being associated with Conor by making controversial tweets that would get fans wild and give out a reaction which is what he craves.
Dillon only has 2 professional MMA bouts under his name that too in Bellator. Yet the majority of the MMA community is well aware of who Danis is. He has associated himself with all major trending topics of MMA which is what has got him to the popularity he has today. Whether one loves him or hates him, it is pretty impressive how with such minuscule achievement in the sport, he has grossed the whole community to be aware of who he is.
In early 2019, Dillon was on his usual sprint by calling out people on Twitter where He posted a photo from their May 2017 submission-only match, which Shields won, and called Shields his “son”.

Shields reacted to the tweet and his response wasn’t the nicest, to say the least, He responded “I’m actually old enough to be your dad and still easily beat you at your own sport. Your biggest accomplishment is sucking Conor’s d**k.”
“Do you guys want to see this”- Dillon Danis calls for a fight against Jake Shield
Seems like the tussle will never end between these two and Dillon would not mature out from his tactics, Even 2 years after the two are still exchanging words on Twitter as nothing has changed. Dillon again initiated it wherein he tweeted out a poster of him and Jake asking the fans whether they would be interested to see this fight take place, he stated, “do you guys want to see this?”
To which Jake Shield responded, “Beating you up will be the easiest pay day of my career”
It would be unlikely if the two would fight to cause the one half of the fight, Danis hardly competes. But if they were to, Jake would most likely go in as a heavy favorite considering he had beaten Dillon in a grappling about many years ago which is Dillon’s biggest strength. Not to mention, Jake is a former strike force champion while Dillon has hardly ever been a contender in Bellator.
