In an article posted by The Associated Press on their official Twitter handle, the caption of above the article’s link said “A state of perpetual disbelief: A growing number of people in Western nations have lost faith in democratic governance, science and a free press, turning instead to conspiracy theories, dark plots and secret explanations.

As evident from the caption itself, the article is reflecting on a question about whether or not we live in an era where there are a growing number of people defying the mainstream methods of information dissemination because of a loss faith in corrupted governments as well as a strong belief in the truth being hidden by the hidden entities of the authority. Shields responded on the aforementioned tweet in the comments and said “Because people are waking up and seeing that the “conspiracy theorist” are the ones who keep getting it right.”
