Jorge Masvidal is coming off a heartbreaking loss against his arch-nemesis, Colby Covington at the main event of UFC 272. These two used to train together, and they were best friends, they wanted to conquer the world together, but a series of unfortunate events led them to hate each other, and Jorge was mad at himself for losing to Colby.

The trash talk between these two was pretty intense, and Colby involved Jorge’s family in the conversation. Masvidal wanted to make him pay for the same, but he had no answer for Colby’s wrestling. It was 3rd straight loss of his career, and he claimed he’d take some time out from the competition to improve his grappling skills.

Another fighter who’s turning a lot of heads in the MMA community is the YouTuber turned boxer, Jake Paul. He turned pro a few years back, and he holds wins over the likes of Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley. Jorge was rooting for Woodley in the fight, but he was impressed by Jake’s performance.

Masvidal helped Jake prepare for his fight against Askren, but he switched camp when he challenged Woodley. Masvidal and Woodley are long-time friends, and Jorge is not the type of guy to turn his back on his friends. Jake and Jorge went back and forth for a while, and he finally discussed the possibility of fighting him on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast.

He said, “I love money. I stated that earlier in your show. If it made me money, and a ton of it, why the f*** not? No matter what, I feel like the chips are stacked on my side because he just got into this combat, for however long he’s been doing it, 5-6 years. I’ve been doing it since I was a kid.”

He added, “So even though it’s not what I have my f****** PHD in, it’s still a form of combat that I have way more time than him doing and way more endurance. So of course I feel the chips are on my side. Big money, and I would bet on myself that I’d win that fight.”
