UFC and WWE vastly differed over the last two decades. But now, both fall under the umbrella of TKO Group Holdings. Hence, one cannot help but wonder when talents would collide in a crossover event. Logan Paul faced such a question from Paul “Triple H” Levesque recently.

TKO Group Holdings bolstered a strong standing with the saving grace of a $335 million settlement in UFC’s Anti-trust lawsuit. With such strong ties, there have been minor crossovers. Michael Chandler cut a WWE-esque prompt in Anaheim on Monday Night Raw to call out Conor McGregor. Moreover, Rey Mysterio Jr. helped hype up the UFC Mexico City card recently. Triple H indicated doubts about WWE superstars crossing over to fight in the UFC.

I don’t know. That sport is so difficult, even there’s some guys that work for us that have strong amateur backgrounds, amateur wrestling...but that’s a whole different world when somebody starts punching and kicking at you too... Difficult for me to say, ‘I think this person from our world would do good because they seem like they’re tough.'

Triple H has implemented big changes over time in the WWE. He also serves as Executive Vice President of Talent Relations. But there are limits to what he can pull off. There’s a difference between seasonal grind and weekly grind, which even Seth Rollins touched on recently. However, Logan Paul expressed his readiness to compete.

Send me, I wrestled. I wrestle now. I would do it... I would totally do it... For the right dance partner, yeah, I would love to do a UFC fight... Now that you guys are partners, I think at the right time, it could make a lot of sense...

Logan Paul qualified for the “Ohio High School Athletic Association 2013” Division I Wrestling Championships. Scuffling against names like Floyd Mayweather and Dillon Danis, he transitioned to exhibition boxing bouts. It makes Paul believe he could fight in the UFC. The question as to whether that will happen remains unknown.

Triple H shares a story of how hard it is for Dana White to build stars in the UFC

Paul Michael Levesque, more famous as Triple H, is a veteran in his trade. The East Coast Independent Circuit wrestling alum is a Hall Of Famer and head of creative for WWE. He has set record feats in his little time as chief content officer.

Hence, he is not one to shy away from recognizing talent. Logan Paul, despite some controversy, is one such prime talent now. Even veteran John Cena wished he was found sooner. He already has some intense storylines going on with multiple former or current champions. Speaking to BleacherReport, he said he considers himself an amplifier and proper instigator for such grinds.

Holding the current US title strap, Paul recently raised his hand to participate in crossover tints with UFC. However, Triple H said the company model and fight outcome in the UFC might backfire regarding business strategy.

While there’s similarities to what we do because it’s combat-centric, we couldn’t be any more different...I remember having a conversation with Dana a long time ago. We were at the ESPYs on the red carpet and [UFC] had just done the China Performance Institute... He was like, ‘Yeah, I know it’s an awesome time right now. I just have to get the Chinese girl to win on Saturday,’ because they had a pay-per-view, ‘If she wins, it’s awesome. If she doesn’t, it’s like I’m doomed.’ I was like, that’s the beauty of what we do — I know she wins in our sport!

While both are centered around combat sports culture, scripted grinds for wrestling entertainment are vastly different. Triple H liked that the WWE management usually knows the result. However, in the UFC, it is always a gamble. As such, Triple H understood the difficulty of building stars in the UFC and chose to stay away from crossover events.
