Former UFC champion Luke Rockhold lost his BKFC debut via TKO in the second round. He does not intend to retire after the loss.

Luke Rockhold is a former UFC and Strikeforce Middleweight champion. He left the UFC in 2022 after losing a decision to Paulo Costa. BKFC announced in February 2023 that they had signed Luke Rockhold to the company. He made his debut against Mike Perry at BKFC 41. However, it did not end well for him, and he quit midway through the second round. Rockhold addressed his loss on Instagram.

He said, “Well f**k.What can I say? You can check bare-knuckle off the list. Some crazy sh**. Those little knuckles got me square on the front two (teeth). Maybe a beard. Maybe a better mouthpiece. It was a good fight. It’s a shame that it ended that way. Motherf***er Mike, you tough bastard. Congrats. I’m not done. Some gloves would be nice, though.”

Rockhold found success in the first round with crisp boxing and footwork. He made Perry miss most of his strikes in the first round. However, Perry found momentum in the second round. He landed some excellent shots on Rockhold and even broke his front tooth. Referee Dan Miragliotta stopped the contest after Rockhold could not continue.

Despite the loss, Rockhold remains adamant that he can compete again. He even stated that he might return to the UFC in the future. Rockhold had an excellent career as an MMA fighter and won the UFC Middleweight title in 2015. However, he dealt with many injuries in the latter half of his career, leading to his final three losses in the UFC.

Mike Perry said that the mother of Luke Rockhold wants her son to retire

Ariel Helwani interviewed Mike Perry and Luke Rockhold before their fight at BKFC 41. The duo exchanged back-and-forth trash talk that excited fight fans for their bout. Perry even went on to claim a shocking claim during the interview.

He said Luke’s mom wants Perry to win so Rockhold can retire. He said, “You know who wants me to win? Luke’s mom wants me to win. That’s who wants me to win. So her baby boy will go home and stop this fighting sh**. I’m gonna send him back Mom.”

Perry broke Rockhold’s tooth in their fight at BKFC 41 and won via TKO in the second round. Rockhold indicated his desire to continue fighting in combat sports after the fight.
