“If Dana white has some balls”- Patricio Pitbull calls upon the UFC president to set up a champ vs champ fight

Patricio Pitbull must be in a state of blessedness after becoming the three-time Bellator featherweight champion. The cherry on the cake is that he handed A.J.Mc Knee his first loss in the rematch. Avenging his devastating loss in their first clash. The champion secured a unanimous decision. Pitbull post the fight claimed, “In [our first fight], I came in peace. Today, I came for war, and I bring the belt home.”
Pitbull already is regarded as one of the best featherweights to ever do it in the MMA community. During his winning streak, he desired to fight Alexander Volkanoskvi in a cross-promotion bout. He claimed that he would “finish boring” Volkanoskvi if they did clash. This hit the headlines at that time.
A reporter asked Dana White if he would consider a cross-promotional bout as desired by Pitbull, “I don’t know, I honestly couldn’t tell you.” White answered when asked about the same. It can be inferred White reluctance to answer the question is an indication that he is not interested in indulging himself and his company in an event of this nature.

Hearing upon this, Pitbull had a lot to say about Dana white, which wasn’t the nice things to say, to say the least, “I just don’t think Dana White has the balls to put a cross-promotional fight [together], be it against his featherweight champion or lightweight champion. Because, if they lose, all the propaganda that he does that the best fighters are under his roof would fall apart. So I don’t think he really has the balls to really bet with me on this.”

After avenging his loss at Bellator 227 against A.J.Mc Knee, Pitbull had his say on a trilogy against A.J and a potential matchup against Alexander Volkanovski. In the post-fight interview, a reporter asked, what goals the champion wish to accomplish after attaining his featherweight belt back. Pitbull wished to have a cross-promotion bout if Dana white wished to indulge in it.
A potential fight against these champions would be a treat for the fans. Not to mention, it would be a massive spectacle and go down in the history books as a cross-promotional bout of this stature is unprecedented. However, It requires the involvement of Dana White, inferring from his comments made in the past regarding this subject it can be understood he does not assent to it. Rightfully so, a cross-promotional bout would be a massive threat to the goodwill of the company.
As anything can happen in highly skilled bouts, if for instance cross promotional bout were to take place and a UFC fighter loses to a fighter from another promotion, it would be hard for the UFC to propagate that they possess the best fighters in the world and they make the best vs best matchups.
Nevertheless, Dana wasn’t too sure of Mayweather vs Mcgregor initially, however, that event came to fruition and broke many records. Hence, one never knows in the combat sports world what circumstances might occur. For now, it seems unlikely.
