“Been battling it for years”- Sergio Pettis offers strong support to Jared Gordon as he opens up about his anxiety

Sergio Pettis- Jared Gordon

Bellator MMA bantamweight champion Sergio Pettis is one amazing fighter to put on a show for his fans just like his elder brother, former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis used to do in his prime. Pettis, who is also a former UFC bantamweight, is on a 5-fight winning streak and overall, has cemented wins over the likes of John Moraga, Brandon Moreno, Joseph Benavidez, Ricky Bandejas, Kyoji Horiguchi and many more.

His elder brother Anthony Pettis was at one point, one of the best pound-for-pound fighters on the planet. After hitting the prime of his career with wins over the likes of Henderson, Jeremy Stephens, Joe Lauzon, Donald Cerrone and Gilbert Melendez, elder Pettis faced setbacks of ups and downs in his career but he never failed to prove to the fans that you can never count out the Roufusport’s product and went on to win over Charles Oliveira, Jim Miller, Michael Chiesa, Stephen Thompson and Alex Morono.

In return, Sergio Pettis came out with a tweet affirming his support for Gordon that said “I feel you brother been battling it for years. Pray you find some peace.” Yes, they both are teammates since Gordon and Pettis train out of Roufusport under head coach and former kickboxer, Duke Roufous. What is important is that however, coming out for something publicly is acknowledged by someone who you know as a person and hence lays out his hand for you on and off the internet.

What do you make of Pettis supporting Gordon in his battle with anxiety as he lays out his short story as well? Do you think Pettis will go on to become far more successful than his brother in the coming future? Where do you put the Pettis brothers amongst the coolest sibling duos in MMA? Also, who do you think wins between Gordon and his upcoming opponent Grant Dawson?
