Romero, the 2000 Olympic silver medalist and former UFC middleweight title challenger, is currently signed to Bellator MMA and was fighting Alex Polizzi this weekend in Paris at Bellator 280 co-main event. Romero currently fights at light heavyweight.

Bellator 280 was headlined by a heavyweight rematch between Ryan Bader and Cheick Congo, where Bader won by unanimous decision. Romero is 14-6 in his overall MMA career with 12 wins by knockout. Romero is known for his explosive nature of fighting alongside vicious knockout power generated by his hands and knees. His wins include the likes of Tim Kennedy, Luke Rockhold, Chris Weidman, Ronaldo Souza, Lyoto Machida and many more.

In the co main of Bellator 280, Romero just put on a series of unanswered shots at his opponent Alex Polizzi in the final seconds of his fight and the crowd goes wild as the fight comes via stoppage in the last second. Watch the clip below from Bellator MMA’s event.

Romero was originally scheduled to fight Melvin Manhoef but Manhoef pulled out of the fight due to a hand injury which has allegedly been a result of stopping a burglary act. But this fight will now take place in September 2022 at Dublin, Ireland.
