Patricio Pitbull blasts AJ for trying to get into UFC! AJ McKee might still be under contract with Bellator MMA but the featherweight champ is not afraid of admitting that his goal is to be in the UFC one day.

AJ McKee is the featherweight king in Bellator MMA. The fighter is ready to take on MMA legend Patricio Pitbull in one of the most-anticipated matchups. The fight takes place at Bellator 277 to defend his featherweight title. AJ has never been shy to call out the best fighters and recently, leading up to the Patricio rematch, McKee has mentioned publicly that he is ready for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

In a recent interview with The Schmo, McKee speaks about his aspirations for the future, “It’s nothing personal. I am comfortable where I’m at. I love where I am at. It’s no secret. I will definitely hold that title one day. But I am comfortable where I’m at, at the moment. We’ll see how things work out. We’ll see where the path lies. But at the moment I’m taking one foot in front of another in the course that I’m walking at.”

His opponent and former champion, Pitbull say McKee’s behavior towards Bellator has been pretty disrespectful, and trying to get into the UFC while he’s the champ is just unacceptable. Talking to MMA Fighting, he said, “He’s exclusive, he’s under contract, he’s the Bellator champion. Bellator pays him a lot more than the UFC would pay him, that’s for sure. I know the numbers. And he was on this tug of war that he wasn’t going to win because he has a contract with the organization.”

Pitbull demanded an immediate rematch after his loss, but McKee took his time to sign the contract. He believes McKee wanted more money, and that was the reason for this delay, “I believe he asked for more money than could be offered. Maybe he turned down an offer from Bellator and asked for more, even though his purse isn’t low. He was kind of flirting with the UFC in the media — and, to me, that’s very unethical.”
