Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah‘s record-breaking season continued as he recorded his 51st goal contribution in all competitions this season during a 2-0 victory over Manchester City. The 32-year-old forward also broke eight records in the process.

Mohamed Salah scored and assisted, guiding the Reds to an impressive 2-0 victory over reigning EPL champions Manchester City. He scored once in the 14th minute and topped it off with an assist for Dominik Szoboszlai‘s goal in the 37th minute. Salah has now racked up an incredible 25 goals and 16 assists in the EPL this season, putting him on top of both the top-scorer and assists-provider lists.

Against the Cityzens, the Egyptian forward put in a world-class performance, shattering eight records in a single evening. He became the first player in EPL history to register over 40 goal contributions in two different seasons as well as the first in Europe’s top five leagues this season. Salah has interestingly scored and assisted in 11 different EPL games this term, equaling Lionel Messi‘s record at FC Barcelona.

Moreover, the 32-year-old broke Liverpool legend Steve McManaman‘s 15 assists record at Anfield by taking his tally to 16 this season. To top things off, Salah is now the only player to score over 25 goals and register more than 15 assists in a single EPL season. He is now closing in on the EPL season assist record held by Thierry Henry and Kevin de Bruyne.

Salah’s impressive season comes amid uncertainty regarding his future at the club as his contract comes to an end next summer. Nonetheless, the 32-year-old’s heroics have helped Liverpool consolidate its place on top of the EPL table with an eleven-point lead.

Salah helped Liverpool to their first double over City this season and has broken several records in that process. Speaking after the win, Liverpool defender Andy Robertson stated that Salah is playing unbelievably out of his skin this season. Moreover, he praised the 32-year-old’s brilliant work rate as well as his partnership with Luis Diaz.
