There’s this saying in football that a player with a buzz cut is the most dangerous version of himself. Liverpool fans are hoping that the same is true for Mohamed Salah as the Egyptian shared a picture of his stunning new look on social media. With Jurgen Klopp gone and Arne Slot taking charge as the new boss, the club is set for a new look in every sense.
Mohamed Salah‘s unexpected reveal of his new hairdo took many by surprise. The Egyptian King has parted ways with his long, curly hair and now sports a buzz cut. The picture shared on X has already amassed over 9.4 million views and more than 72K likes. Salah had ‘vowed’ to stay at Liverpool and ‘fight like hell’ to bring trophies to Anfield next season.
It was rumored that Salah may in fact, leave Liverpool for the Saudi Pro League following Klopp’s departure. The winger is undoubtedly one of the all-time greats at the club, with his record spanning from a Premier League and a UCL to 211 goals in all competitions for the Reds.
He is the tenth highest goal scorer (157 goals) in the history of the competition, and has more goals than Cristiano Ronaldo in England.
Fans react to Mohamed Salah’s surprising new look
Liverpool have parted ways with Jurgen Klopp and have welcomed Arne Slot to the dugout. More than his managerial achievements and reputation in the Netherlands, fans took more notice of his ‘haircut’ being extremely similar to that of Erik ten Hag and Pep Guardiola. A fan commented that Salah’s new trim was a fun way of showing his support to Slot.
A supporter jokingly claimed that the ‘Slot era’ was truly underway. Others said that Salah was desperately in need of a trim and that he was looking much better now.
A Liverpool fan laughed at how Salah became more aerodynamic than before. Some said that they could see through his attempt to cover up his receding hairline with a transplant. A few were worried that Salah’s footballing ability was stored in his hair and that he was doing himself damage by cutting it.
Salah was pivotal for Liverpool’s season, scoring 18 goals and setting up another 10 in the Premier League. The club were frontrunners for the PL title until the final stretch of games where they slipped up by dropping points in consecutive games.
