Star Indian quick, Mohammed Shami opened up on his best friends in the Indian cricket team and he also revealed why he deems them as his best friends in the circuit. The Indian pace-bowling sensation who proved to be India’s key architect in dismantling opponents in the 2023 World Cup couldn’t take any further part in cricket since the quadrennial extravaganza due to an ankle injury.
While he was recovering from the injury that also involved a surgery, Shami revealed that Virat Kohli and Ishant Sharma were the only ones who reached out to him and wanted to know how he has been doing on a regular basis. That felt like a bout of fresh air for the Indian fast bowler.

Shami was seen getting back in action a couple of days ago for the first time since his injury. It is still unclear when will he make his comeback but India will really like to avail his services for the upcoming 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

Mohammed Shami had a massive impact on the 2023 World Cup, making a late footfall in the tournament. Coming in place of an injured Hardik Pandya, Shami made a downright impact against New Zealand, claiming a fifer straightaway. There was no looking back for the fiery fast bowler as he continued to be on a roll since then.
From just seven matches in the tournament, Shami claimed 24 wickets at an almost incredulous bowling average of 10.70. He started off with figures of 5/54 against the Kiwis while following it up with numbers of 4/22 against England. He claimed another fifer in the very contest against Sri Lanka, underscoring the inexorable menace that came alongside him.
An unbeaten South Africa was no match for Shami either as they could only score 18 runs against him while losing two of their prized batters. Despite going wicketless against the Netherlands, he came back with an absolute bang, claiming seven wickets in the semi-final, redeeming India for their earlier defeat against the Kiwis in the 2019 semis. He achieved all of these feats while playing with a stiff ankle.
