Monica McNutt won’t entertain talks of any trio posing danger to Boston Celtics ‘core unit’
Monica McNutt fumed over the Sixers Big 3.
Monica McNutt talks about the Boston Celtics core
The Boston Celtics gave us one of the most dominant performances this year and won the championship after 16 years. The core of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown alongside a great supporting cast and deep bench was one of the reasons for their success. During ESPN’s show “First Take” Monica McNutt was fumed with the thoughts of a team posing a threat to Boston.
During the discussion, questions arose about the newly formed Big 3 in Philadelphia 76ers and whether they will be a threat to Boston’s core unit. McNutt believed no Big 3s have a chance against the Boston Celtics. She even mentioned that the Los Angeles Clippers with Paul George showed great promise at the start but failed to deliver.
I'm tired of doing this thing based on potential. What have you actually shown me?Monica McNutt via First Take
Paul George is a good addition to the Sixers as he is a two-way player and a great scorer. He doesn’t need the ball to be effective and can be a perfect fit for both Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. But the main issue is being healthy as both Embiid and George have not been for a whole season. This would lead to Maxey taking all the load just like he did this season when Embiid got injured.
The Eastern Conference has improved this offseason than what it was the last year. While the Celtics have a great team they might have to do more next season with other teams improving. As for the Sixers, it remains to be seen if their gamble with George pays off.
Jayson Tatum signs the biggest contract in NBA history worth $314 million
Boston Celtics star forward, Jayson Tatum is making news as he is set to sign the biggest contract in NBA history. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, both sides have agreed to sign a five-year supermax contract extension worth $314 million.
Last year Tatum’s teammate Jaylen Brown signed the largest deal in the worth $304 million five-year supermax. But Tatum has surpassed that and will sign the biggest contract in the NBA.
Tatum was drafted by the Celtics third overall in 2017 and since then he has always delivered to his potential. Tatum is a five-time All-Star and four-time All-NBA selection and helped the Celtics to win their 18th championship which is most of any franchise in the NBA.
