The eleventh seed Goffin has made a determined start to the tournament. In the first round he won a three setter against veteran Marin Čilić. In the second he defeated Italian Marco Cecchinato in straight sets 6-4 6-0. But his most satisfying win came in the third round where he ousted the fifth seed Alexander Zverev out of the tournament with straight sets win 6-4 7-6. In the Quarter-finals he will face Dan Evans of Great Britain.
Evans had a tougher route to the quarters. In his first round he slogged it out for three sets with Dušan Lajović, before eventually winning 6-3 6-7 6-2. In the second round Evans was faced with the Miami Masters winner Hubert Hurkacz. Evans beat him fair and square 6-4 6-1.
In the third round, Evans had probably the biggest victory of his career when he took out the no,1 player in the World Novak Djokovic. Djokovic self admittedly played the worst match of his life, and Evans played his best; the result was a 6-4 7-5 victory for Dan Evans.

Goffin played a precise game of tennis against Zverev. He served well, was aggressive when he had to be and was overall very solid from the baseline. This game should give Goffin a lot of confidence.
Evans reached the highest peak of his professional career when he took out the no.1 player in the world, Novak Djokovic. Evans played some decent tennis, but Djokovic was horrible on the day. Djokovic committed some 45 unforced errors, more than twice that of Evans.
