- Monte-Carlo Masters 2026 runs from April 5 to April 12 at the Monte Carlo Country Club.
- Carlos Alcaraz defends his title against Jannik Sinner, with both players vying for the No.1 ranking.
- The tournament features a total prize pool of $7,266,059, with the champion earning $1,122,162.
World’s best players are in Monte Carlo for the third Masters 1000 of the season, the Monte-Carlo Masters. It’s also the first Masters 1000 on clay (one of the four big tournaments on the surface).
In the 56-player draw, 16 are seeded players, and 45 players are direct entries. Seven players secured a spot in the main draw after the qualifying rounds, while four players received wild cards.
Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have chosen to come to Monaco. Sinner, at first, dealt with the dilemma of whether to compete in singles because of his Sunshine Double triumph and the need to give his body some rest before the grueling clay swing. But in the end, he chose to play.
Alcaraz will be entering the tournament as the defending champion. Last year, he came from a set down to defeat Lorenzo Musetti.
The other seeded players (top 10) in the draw are: Alexander Zverev, Alex de Minaur, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Bublik, Casper Ruud, and Flavio Cobolli.

Players reaching the third round will get 100 points, while those in the second and first rounds will be given 50 and 10 points, respectively.
The total prize pool for the tournament is $7,266,059. From this, the champion will earn $1,122,162, while the runner-up will receive $612,832.
The Monte-Carlo Masters is crucial in terms of determining who, between Alcaraz and Sinner, will leave The Principality as the No.1 player. Alcaraz, because he skipped the event in 2024 and won it for the first time last year, has 1,000 points to defend.
In the live rankings, the Spaniard has just a 190-point lead over Sinner, who has no points to defend. If Sinner wins the tournament, he will reclaim his No.1 position. Also, if the Italian reaches the semifinals and Alcaraz loses before the quarterfinals, the former will grab the top spot. Sinner will also be returning to the No.1 position if he reaches the final and Alcaraz fails to reach it.
Both players will be chasing their third title of the season. Sinner, a two-time semifinalist in Monte Carlo, lifted the Indian Wells title by defeating Medvedev and later won the Miami Open by beating Jiri Lehecka.
Alcaraz became the Career Grand Slam champion by defeating Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open and also won the Qatar Open for the first time against Arthur Fils. Djokovic, who was last seen in action in the fourth round of the Indian Wells Masters, chose to skip both the Miami Open and the Monte Carlo Masters. Last year in the event, the winner of the 2013 and 2015 Monte-Carlo Masters suffered an opening-round exit.
King of Clay, Rafael Nadal, holds the record for most titles in Monte Carlo, winning 11 of them. He also won the most matches (73) in the tournament.
