The Los Angeles Dodgers are moving on to the 2025 World Series. Following a dominating performance from Shohei Ohtani in Game 4, the Dodgers swept the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series (NLCS). After the game, Mookie Betts dropped huge praise on his teammate and compared him to Michael Jordan.
After having an offensive slump in the National League Division Series (NLDS) against the Philadelphia Phillies, Ohtani’s bat got hot in Game 4. Apart from his offensive heroics, he also dominated from the pitching mound in this game.
In the first inning, Ohtani picked up 3 strikeouts as he got the better of Jackson Chourio, Christian Yelich, and William Contreras. In the bottom of this inning, he hit a leadoff home run off Jose Quintana. The Dodgers ended the inning with a 3-0 lead.
In the bottom of the 4th inning, the Japanese international hit his 2nd home run. This shot left Dodger Stadium as it traveled over 469 ft.

While speaking with Abby Labar of MLB Network following their 2nd straight National League pennant, Mookie Betts described his side as the Chicago Bulls and Ohtani as Michael Jordan.
I’ve said it multiple times, we’re like the Bulls, and he’s Michael Jordan. Whenever he goes, we’re all going to go. You see it today, and I’m just happy he’s on our team.
Mookie Betts said regarding Shohei Ohtani

Jordan and the Bulls were part of one of the greatest sporting dynasties. They won 6 NBA championships from 1991 to 1998, with Jordan winning 6 NBA Finals MVP award.
The Dodgers are trying to build a dynasty of their own. Their win on Friday made them the first World Series champions to reach the Fall Classic since the Philadelphia Phillies in 2009. They are looking to become the first side since the 2000 New York Yankees to go back-to-back as champions.
Shohei Ohtani responds to his teammates calling his performance as the greatest in MLB history
Shohei Ohtani delivered one of the most historic performances in MLB history on Friday. Not only did he hit 3 home runs, but he also dominated as the pitcher and picked up 10 strikeouts while throwing 6 scoreless innings. This led to several of his teammates calling this the greatest performance in history.

During the press conference after the game, a reporter would ask about his feelings regarding the comments from his teammates. The 31-year-old expressed that some of them had picked him up during the slump and now it was his time to perform.
There were times during the postseason where Teo (Teoscar Hernandez) and Mookie (Betts) picked me up, and this time around, it was my turn to be able to perform. I think just looking back over the course of the entire postseason, I haven’t performed to the expectation, but I think today we saw what the left-handed hitters could do.

The performance in Game 4 saw Ohtani claim another individual honor. He was judged the NLCS MVP after going 5-for-14 in the series while batting with a .357 average.
He and his teammates will now wait and see who they will face. The Seattle Mariners lead the ALCS 3-2 following a 6-2 win in Game 5. A win on Sunday will see them go through to their first World Series in franchise history. The Toronto Blue Jays, on the other hand, will be hoping to enforce Game 7.
