There is just no stopping Freddie Freeman at the moment. After missing a good amount of games due to an ankle injury, the first baseman has come up clutch in the World Series. Mookie Betts would praise his performances in the Fall Classic and claim he was ‘carrying‘ them on one leg.
Despite the ankle injury, Freeman has continued to play for the Dodgers. In the World Series so far, he has hit three home runs in three games, including an iconic walk-off grand slam in Game 1.
The 35-year-old opened the scoring in Game 3 in the first inning itself. A two-run bomb by him against Clarke Schimdt saw him tie another historical record.
He tied with George Springer to hit home runs in five consecutive World Series games (dating back to the World Series in 2021 with the Atlanta Braves). These performances of him have made him a likely candidate for the 2024 World Series MVP.
Speaking to the media after the game, Mookie Betts applauded his teammate’s effort despite him not being fully fit and claimed it was a “beauty” to have him in the line-up.

In the 2024 postseason, Freeman is batting with a .250 average while going 11-for-44. All three of his home runs have come in the Fall Classic, a positive sign for the Dodgers as their other superstar Shohei Ohtani continues to struggle with form and a shoulder injury.
Freddie Freeman admits he is seeing the ball very well in World Series
Freddie Freeman‘s resurgence to hot form has been a huge boost for the Los Angeles Dodgers. In all three World Series games so far, Freeman has played a major part in his team’s offense. He later admitted that he is seeing the ball very well in this series while speaking about his ankle injury.
During a media conference in the clubhouse after the game, Freeman pointed out that the day off between the NLCS and World Series was “huge” for him. This leave gave him more time to focus on his ankle.

Freeman and his teammates are now on the cusp of glory. A win in Game 4 on Tuesday night will seal the World Series title for them and complete the sweep of the New York Yankees in the process. The first pitch of Game 4 will be thrown at 5:08 p.m. ET/8:08 p.m. PT.
