Los Angeles Angels outfielder and shortstop Mookie Betts gave a simple yet sarcastic answer to a World Series Championship question at the 2024 MLB Awards. He was asked what advice he’d like to give to teams hoping for the ring in 2025.
After thinking for a while the 3x World Series champion stated that the other teams need to wait for 7 years before challenging the WS. His words served as a threat and challenge to other MLB teams who are aiming for a World Series challenge in 2025.
The incident took place on Thursday at the 2024 MLB Awards show when Mookie Betts got named for the All-MLB First Team Outfielder Award. His performance throughout the regular season and postseason prompted the team to a World Series victory against the New York Yankees in five games.
I would say y’all just gotta wait the next seven years. After that, then y’all can win. But right now, nah. You just gotta wait.

His threat may just come true as the Los Angeles Dodgers command one of the strongest lineups in the MLB. With players like, Betts, Freddie Freeman, Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and others in the lineup, they are aiming to keep the Fall Classic crown for a long time.
LA Dodgers in midst of rebuilding ahead of 2025 games
Like the other 29 teams in MLB, the Los Angeles Dodgers are also undergoing lineup changes. They are re-signing and letting go of players to bolster their roster before the 2025 season games.

Currently, the team is focused on re-signing outfielder Teoscar Hernandez. The outfielder was an integral part of the main force in the postseason run. Reports had them looking for Juan Soto as well. Nevertheless, they’ll focus on re-signing a couple of their former players for now.
The LA Dodgers are also considered “heavy favorites” to acquire Japanese ace pitcher Roki Sasaki from the international market. While there are many theories and controversies surrounding Sasaki, they can’t be completely brushed aside.

Despite having quite a lineup of pitchers in their arsenal, team manager Dave Roberts believes they still can add more. Considering how the majority of the players hit IL this year, he might not be wrong in his approach. For now, signing Hernandez will be the focus of the team, and the rest will later fall into place.
