Ohtani has been working to get back in shape to pitch again. During the offseason, he was seen throwing some pitches in a park. At the Spring Training, he took to the mound and threw some pitches as well.

This Saturday, he will take part in a bullpen session as per Dave Roberts. This will be the first time he takes to the mound since February 25. However, Roberts did not provide an exact timeline regarding the return of Ohtani as a two-way star.

Ohtani has not pitched in the MLB since August 2023. He would injure his elbow, which led to him undergoing surgery. This kept him out of pitching in the 2024 season and forced him to play only as the Designated Hitter (DH) last year. He ended up creating the 50-50 club (50 home runs and 50 stolen bases) and won his 3rd unanimous MVP.
