The state of California is currently enduring a devastating catastrophe. Wildfires have ravaged parts of the state, causing unprecedented damage to life, property, the environment, and the economy. Numerous Hollywood elites are also suffering from the crisis, helplessly watching their homes consumed by the inferno.

Lakers’ LeBron James has sent his heartfelt condolences to those who are suffering the most. He is now among the growing list of athletes and A-list celebrities who are trying to help out in any way they can. The King sent his prayers for the city of Los Angeles as he tweeted a message of hope, expressing that the “nightmare” will end soon.

Today, he reposted a video from the official Lakers’ social account, where he is seen making an LA sign with his fingers after a victory at home. In addition to James, other Lakers staff members are contributing in meaningful ways to alleviate the pain caused by the wildfire. For example, AD started a GoFundMe campaign for the team’s videographer, who lost his childhood home to the LA wildfires.

Meanwhile, head coach JJ Redick also had to evacuate his home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood along with his family and his wife’s family. He expressed how everybody is “freaking out” and shared that he hopes “everybody stays safe.”

Lakers and Clippers set to return to the arena after their games were postponed due to the wildfires.

The Los Angeles Lakers had to reschedule two of their last games, while the Clippers had to miss one game due to the uncontrolled fires. Both teams will return to the court on Monday, with the Lakers hosting the Spurs and the Clippers hosting the Miami Heat. Starting Monday, the Purple and Gold brigade will hold a donation drive in an effort to help the Los Angeles community suffering from the setback of the wildfires.

Lakers’ Crypto.com Arena and the Clippers’ Intuit Dome are only half an hour apart from each other. However, thanks to downtown LA’s concrete structures and urban layout, the area remains out of harm’s way for now.

Both LA teams are currently neck-and-neck in an ultra-competitive Western Conference. The Lakers are currently 6th in the Conference with a 20-16 record, whereas the Clippers are in 7th spot at 20-17. Both teams are contending to revive their playoff hopes after a disappointing past few seasons.

Fans can expect to see Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard lead his team to victory over the Heat after an extended absence due to an injury. LeBron James is listed as probable for Monday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs, which suggests that he is expected to play, barring any last-minute changes.
