Caitlin Clark and her fellow WNBA peers made a statement before the All-Star game on Saturday night. They wore t-shirts with ‘pay us what you owe us’ emblazoned in the front before tip-off, a united stand against the league as they look to negotiate their next CBA.

The stand received support from fans inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse, as they chanted ‘pay them’ in unity, much to the surprise of the players. Even the ESPN broadcasters at the event were surprised by the fans’ show of support.

After the game, Sabrina Ionescu and Kelsey Plum went to the media room to speak with reporters. Most of the questions were about their CBA discussions, as reporters knew that more than 40 players took part in a meeting with the league and franchise owners.

Plum, while addressing the united front before the game, jokingly dissed Team Clark, revealing that they were not in the meeting when the t-shirts were being discussed. Even though she was trying to lighten the room, Ionescu was unimpressed.

Why do you take a shot at the golden goose, Caitlin Clark?. You guys were flying, before she arrived, on one of those airlines that made you pay for a cup of water. Now you’re flying private. You went from a Motel 6 in a sketchy part of town to a Four Seasons in the shopping district. Stop talking.

The longtime analyst believes Plum did a disservice by calling out Clark and her team. At a time when they have to stand united, that one moment of senselessness almost undermined what they are fighting for. Colin Cowherd believes in these times, it is better to remain quiet and stick to the task.

Kelsey Plum and Caitlin Clark tend to playfully needle each other

Even though Sabrina Ionescu was not initially impressed with Kelsey Plum’s diss at Team Clark, she knew nothing was stopping her Olympic teammate, even if it did not make sense. The Los Angeles Sparks guard has a penchant for jokingly taking shots at others.

After all the players returned to their places of work, everyone started posting about their experiences in this All-Star weekend. When Plum posted hers, one of the pictures was of the 4-time All-Star posing in her game day fit, to which Caitlin Clark replied.

Thank U for the Nike ad.

This was the Indiana Fever star’s way of needling her close friend. Since Plum is an Under Armor athlete, this was the best way to take a shot with the Nike swoosh logo in the background.

Ahead of the 3-point contest, as Plum and the other competitors were walking towards the bench, Clark trolled the Sparks star with her Fever teammate and 3-point contest competitor, Lexie Hull‘s jacket.

Neither of the two stars would mind what the other says about them. However, to those sitting at home, it felt as if the 2-time champion was taking a shot at the WNBA’s ‘golden goose’ at the most inappropriate time.

Kelsey Plum has the upper hand over Caitlin Clark so far

During Clark’s rookie season, Kelsey Plum was part of the Las Vegas Aces. They won all three games they battled the Indiana Fever last season. This time around, Plum is part of the Los Angeles Sparks after her trade this offseason.

The two sides have battled twice so far, both in Indianapolis. Both times, Clark was out injured, and the Fever lost both games. The next two games against each other are in August, and both will be at the Crypto.com Arena.

If the Fever guard recovers from her groin injury, she would be looking to turn the tables on the veteran guard. If she does manage to do so, expect the reigning Rookie of the Year to poke some fun at Plum.
