“I hit my head but nothing happened,” Marc Marquez walks away unscathed after yet another accident
Marc Marquez
Marc Marquez has had it tough with injuries and accidents in the last few months. It’s been a sorry tale for the six time world champions whose season has been plagued by a plethora of injuries. Every time he seems to show some signs of improvement and getting to full fitness, he is dragged by an injury. It all started with Jerez which left him with a broken arm and kept it out of action for a considerable period.
But the big one which almost costed him his career was the Mandalika one. The accident gave him double vision problems and therefore was advised to quit racing. But he battled his way through that injury and made a return to MotoGP showing the kind of courage and mentality he possesses. But when it was all coming back on track and falling into place, he suffered another accident at the Indonesian GP triggering that same injury.
But yet again, Marc Marquez made an incredible comeback to ride like a champion in Austin and proving why is he called the King of COTA. That was the first time in the season that we saw the pace that we have to expect of him. A technical problem left him at the end of the grid but he fought back to finish P6 ahead of Fabio Quartararo. The Spaniard had more to offer, had he not been exhausted.
Marc Marquez fortunately unharmed after his crash in FP3 at the Portuguese GP
Now again, he has become a victim of yet another accident. But, thankfully, he didn’t pick up any injuries as he returned to battle for pole after his crash in FP3. Following the crash, he said, “In a weekend like this one with wet conditions, cold conditions, mixed conditions, it’s easy to make mistakes, like nearly everybody did.“
“But I didn’t expect to crash there because I was not pushing a lot.”
“It’s also true that the Indonesian crash was a massive one. Here I landed and hit my head but nothing happened.”
“I have pain on my neck, but that’s normal,” as reported by crash.
Marc Marquez has this knack of getting back up when he is backed against the wall and this incident is yet another example of the bravery of the six time MotoGP world champion.
