“Nothing has changed because the bike doesn’t change,” Andrea Dovizioso complains regarding complexity of striking the right balance with the Yamaha

Yamaha has not been up to the mark for drivers like Andrea Dovizioso and Fabio Quartararo to leave an impression in any of the races. The Italian has just 3 points to his name after 4 rounds of racing. The reigning world champion, Fabio Quartararo, has been a tad bit better but nowhere close to be able to defend his title against the likes Enea Bastianini and Alex Rins, who have been shown incredible pace.
The blame very much goes to Yamaha the drivers have evidently been struggling with power and grip on the track. The Spaniard battled for a lone 15th place with Franco Morbidelli and finished more than 22 seconds behind Fabio Quartararo. This was a horrible weekend for Yamaha who have set high standards for themselves.
Of course, the Yamaha lacks power on the straights due to an inferior engine. But, Andreas Dovizioso needs to pick up the pieces, just like his team mate Fabio Quaratararo, to have an outside chance of having a somewhat decent season while Yamaha fixes its issues. It’s no secret that both Ducati and Honda have been head and shoulders above Yamaha, who seem to be struggling with power and grip.
Andrea Dovizioso opens up about how hard it is get any sort of grip and power on the new Yamaha M1

Andrea Dovizioso has expressed his frustration after a horrible weekend in America. In an interview, he said, “I’ve been repeating this since Misano last year and nothing has changed because the bike doesn’t change and this is the characteristic of the Yamaha now.”
“In my opinion, the engine doesn’t help but the main point is the grip. 100% it’s the grip. You can’t use your way to ride.”
“You have to ride and not use the rear grip on the exit of the corners. And this, in my opinion, is quite unusual. With any bike, it’s quite difficult to ride like this,” as quoted by crash.
Andrea Dovizioso needs some help from his manufacturers to be able to help him get out this slump and save it from being a disastrous season for both himself and Yamaha.
