Fabio Quartararo

It was the Fabio Quartararo show in Sachsenring as the reigning world champion lit up the circuit with his exemplary performance. After qualifying P2 just behind Francesco Bagnaia, it was expected that Fabio Quartararo would tuck behind the Ducati and take it on from there. But the Frenchman got his elbows out and out-dragged the Ducati to take the lead from there and that was pretty much it.

Quartararo was in his zone and element which made it hard for Bagnaia to keep up with him, who eventually crashed out of the race after he lost the rear of that Ducati in a pretty bizarre accident. Then it was Johann Zarco’s turn to put some pressure on the Frenchman. But, it was next to impossible for anyone to live up to the kind of pace he was clocking at the front of the grid.

It seems like there has been quite a turnaround ever since Mugello. It was expected that Yamaha’s problems would increase on the circuits like Muguello and Catalunya, which favor bikes with faster straight line speeds. But, that hasn’t been the case as Fabio Quartararo, like the champion rider he is, has found the answers to counter Ducati’s strengths. It was important to cut down on the mistakes and Fabio has been flawless lately.

Keith Huewen has showered heaps of praise on the reigning world champion after his heroics in Germany. He said, “Quartararo, who was on the medium rear tyre, would have been planning to make a break, so Bagnaia’s job was to try and thwart that in the first few corners. And you would have expected the Ducati to have out-dragged Quartararo into turn one. But he didn’t. Quartararo got underneath Bagnaia and that was it.”

“Quartararo’s momentum at the moment is everything. He just gets every single point there is available to him and he makes the best of it.

I have to say, I think Sachsenring was probably the best ride that Quartararo has ever had. A really difficult track. Not the easiest build up to the race, and he looked just imperious all the way through, brilliant,” as reported by crash.

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going and Fabio Quartararo has proven himself to be the toughest nut to crack in challenging conditions. He has beaten all odds to establish his supremacy amongst the talented group of riders waiting to pounce on an ounce of weakness.
